Hanan works with
a fabulous range of more modern materials. Her designs too are very
modern. The bead and sequin work are distinctive, achieving an
almost 3D effect. Hanan often uses asymmetrical designs and motifs
which makes her work very different.
I chose the
‘Sana’ design as part of the Farida range because I love the cut of
the skirt. Hip hugging yet with a fluid movement with clever use of
material. Hanan sometimes places cut outs down the side of the
skirt (as on the green and white designs) which make them look and
feel very sexy. The decoration is sewn directly onto the skirt so
there is no separate hip belt. Very comfy to wear. Fabulous
beadwork with strands of fringe dotted around to emphasise the
movement. So much lighter than the heavily fringed more classic
designs.
The bra is halter
neck and the use of ruched material around the cups very effective.
The bead work is often asymmetrical on the cups with a loop of
fringe draped at the base, hanging down to the belly button.
The set generally
includes a head band and arm bands but no veil. |
