The Farida Northern Residential Course - Ford Castle

The venue is spectacular, Ford Castle in Northumberland.  We take over the whole castle for the weekend.  The staterooms are full of colour, sequins and the strains of Arabic music. It all appears slightly surreal. Click here to visit Ford Castle's own website.

Ford Castle dates back to the 14^th century.  King James IV of Scotland spent his last night here before his fatal battle on Flodden field in 1513.  It is set on English / Scottish border in an area of outstanding natural beauty, rich in history and with views of the Cheviot hills.  If you want to take time off from a dance class, the countryside is beautiful to walk in.

The Castle itself has been recently re-wired, the rooms are of a good standard and it is all centrally heated.  Group rooms have 4 - 9 beds in them.  I try not to put more than 7 in a room unless a larger group particularly request to be together.  There are no tea making facilities in the rooms but in the kitchen downstairs there is a drinks machine.  I will also ensure there is a kettle for those that want to make their own hot drinks through the day.

Our menus are planned by Brenda Taylor with an emphasis on Middle Eastern cuisine in keeping with the theme for the weekend.  The food has been really good - not so good if you are on a diet!  If you have special dietary requirements, make sure we know in advance.

The Bar - we have our own bar.  It is possible to bring drinks for your rooms but if using the bar or if you want drinks with the Saturday night meal, you must get them from the bar. 

Because of all the work done on the Castle recently, prices have increased which is reflected in the course prices.  I have looked round and can find nowhere to equal it.  It is such a wonderful venue I feel it is still worth every penny and hope you do too.
