A fabulous
collection of old songs chosen by Yasmina of Cairo and performed by
her own band, El Negoum (the Safaa Farid band). This CD starts with
an oriental entrance number composed specially for Yasmina by Reda
Saad. It is very varied and great for more experienced dancers.
The songs
featured here will be recognised as old favourites by an Arabic
audience. There are also translations on the inside cover. Yasmina
says ‘In translating these songs I have occasionally taken some
artistic licence to give them an appropriate corresponding meaning
in English. The aim is to give those performing a clear idea of the
