Within 2 minutes of the hotel are various seedy clubs, some of which you wouldn't find unless you knew about them. 

They have loud live music.  Not best known for the quality of sound …. or for the quality of dancers!  I recommend the use of ear plugs!

Respectable Egyptian women would not be seen in these places, but as foreigners, we are exempt.  Worth a visit - not threatening in any way and an opportunity to dance with a band!
