The fabulous Mahmouds - a belly dancers
heaven with 3 floors of jangly sequinned numbers from earrings to
hipscarfs, coin belts, class wear and costumes. In the Khan el Khalili
down a small alley, it is an amazing place to shop and you could easily spend hours in here.
No dancer should go to
Cairo without experiencing this! I get angry when I hear of belly
dance trips where the organisers have not taken people here. The
stock varies - sometimes there is a good range of ready made costumes
too. Mahmouds prices are generally fixed so you don't usually have the haggling of other stall holders in the Khan el Khalili. |
