The Grand bazaar has everything you could want.  Gold and silver, leather, ceramic pots and belly dance costumes.  It is a 5 minute walk from our hotel.

Here you must barter - extortionate prices will be asked but you can get them down to half or below of the initial asking price.  We will go together and I will show you where the different belly dance shops are.  I'll introduce you to the shop owners so you won't get ripped off - but remember - you can still barter.  You will have lots of time through the week to explore.

We spend a day in Taksim, the modern shopping area of Istanbul.  Lots of fabulous boutiques as well as bigger chain stores.  Some absolute bargains to be had.  All non dance related but a girl can't wear sequins all the time!
