I am still feeling completely overwhelmed by the rare privilege you created with your new festival this weekend. How can I say thank you enough, I just don't know. It was simply the weekend of a lifetime. A weekend beyond my dreams!
Overall, quite apart from the magnificent treat of having star musicians from Cairo, there was a lovely atmosphere of happiness and inclusiveness. I saw people really shining in a very special way and I think that was because of the warm positivity in classes. I so enjoyed trying to learn with you and Yasmina and the great guys in the band who gave so generously.

I was saddened and perplexed by the lack of support for what to me is UK's top dance event. I can remember looking at the programme months ago and being struck strongly by the design and vision of your festival. It all looked so Egyptian in concept and mentality. Sometimes it takes time to firmly get the message home, but then there's the cost involved. It's so difficult. I hope you find a way. M N

Just to say thanks for a wonderful weekend

I really enjoyed it and found all my workshops very helpful...including the de ja vu moment in 'Steps a la Reda Troupe' when Khazafy was teaching the same choreography that we did in Cairo in December ...and if you recall was the straw that broke the camels back!!!
It gave Sarah a laugh as she caught sight of me beaming half way through when I felt that although not particularly gracefully I had mastered it and felt a surge of self confidence - with a determination not to leave the class for ANY reason just in case he remembered me!!!

Anyhow, I hope you got all the positive feedback that I feel the weekend deserved

Just wanted to say thanks for a great weekend - I'm absolutely shattered but it feels good!
I've never danced so much in my life and can't wait for my usual classes to start again, unfortunately still another 5 weeksI enjoyed everything but especialy the 2 classes I did with Khazafy - what a dancer - i could have happily just stood and watched him for the 3 hours we were in class! H C

Just wanted to let you know that all the workshops I took over the weekend were great and really useful for my development as a dancer as well as being good fun!
Saturday's show was also excellent - such a variety of dancers from all over the country and of a consistently high standard that made me proud of the British dance scene. And of course we were treated to stunning performances by Khazafy and the ever-lovely Yasmina.

It was a privilege to be able to take part in such a show and I wanted to particularly thank you not only for the opportunity to dance with a live band of such calibre but also for persuading me that I should do it! As you know I was very apprehensive, but once I got out there and the music was flowing it was a real joy. Definitely an experience that will stay with me for a long time.
Congratulations on organising such a very complex event and making such a success of it. I really hope it becomes a permanent fixture in the belly dance calendar. H R
